I'm right in the middle of what I like to call the 'paper portion' of the semester so I'm swamped with papers! But I've been having a strong urge to bake and had a couple hours to spare in the middle of the day yesterday so I decided to bake a cake!
Hello bakers!

Hello bakers! For those of you who don't know me, a defining characteristic of myself is that my friends always make fun of me because I'm ALWAYS SICK. I'm currently sick with some form of tonsillitis so my throat has been killing me for the past week and so naturally, I've been spending my time on baking blogs finding new recipes! I was on Butter Baking and ran into this Nutella Brownie cup recipe and immediately decided I needed to make it because nothing cures any sickness like chocolate does... It was super convenient too because I had all the ingredients so I didn't even need to leave the house to fulfil my chocolate craving (always a plus in my books!)
I'm so sorry!!! I just realized that I haven't posted about the results of SPCA National Cupcake Day!
I made over 80 cupcakes, which for my small kitchen was a challenge! But I ended up selling them all and made over $300 dollars for the SPCA :) Hello bakers,
Just a quick post today! It was St. David's day on Saturday. For those of you who don't know, St David is the patron saint of Wales. My mom is welsh so I've been celebrating st David's day since I was a kid and it always means one thing....Welsh cakes! Happy Valentine's Day!!!
My views on Valentine's day are conflicted because although I'm opposed to the idea of it being this capitalist event, I am a huge fan of all the cute pink and red and heart shaped things that pop up this time of year! The best way to celebrate any holiday though is with cupcakes so I made some Red Velvet Valentine's Day cupcakes for you guys! Hello Bakers! I guess a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year is in order! :) I hope all of you had a great holiday season!
I'm sorry I've neglected you in the past 2 months, I've been super busy! I got a part time job in November at a bakery near my apartment. Check them out, it's called Lemonade Gluten Free Bakery! It's been super fun but also a challenge to juggle with school, so I let my blog suffer. The bakery was crazy busy over the Christmas season, and on top of that, my grandma was in town so I was playing tour guide and buying presents and the whole Christmas deal! But despite all this craziness, I did do some Christmas baking to show you all :) Hello bakers!!!
It was recently my boyfriend's cousins birthday so the task fell on me to teach my boyfriend how to make cake....This recipe couldn't have been more perfect because it's easy and fast but SO delicious and it looks good too! Happy Sunday everybody! I'm staying at my parents house this weekend and they recently won a 6lb bag of apples from the grocery store and they seem never ending! My mum gave me the task of baking something to use up some of the apples and I thought there's nothing better for this weather than Apple Pie!
Hello bakers!
I have a recipe to share with you today that I have made so many times that the page in the book is so worn down, it has become unreadable. This Fairy Cake recipe is adapted from Nigella Lawson's book "The Domestic Goddess" which was the first baking book I ever got my hands on and one that made me fall in love with baking (and her). |
